At Kentner Sellers, we provide Employee Benefit Plan Audit Services to our clients that maintain retirement plans such as 401(k) plans and Pension and Profit Sharing plans, and whose plans require an audit.

In addition to providing the required audit services in a cost-effective manner, our goal is to help our clients understand their respective plans and the related filing and compliance requirements. With constant changes in the rules and requirements mandated by the Internal Revenue Service and Department of Labor, we, along with attorneys, third party administrators and investment advisors, help our clients maintain plan compliance.

As part of our audits, we offer recommendations to assist our clients and plan administrators look for ways to improve plan administration and operation. Areas of focus include:

  • Hardship withdrawals

  • Plan participant loans

Our Employee Benefit Plan Audit Group is led by Mark Smith and Jon Stangel.

The ERISA Fiduciary Advisor from the U.S. Department of Labor's Employee Benefits Security Administration provides an ERISA overview, including the most common compliance mistakes EBSA finds in its investigations, and provides links to additional information as well as tools to assist plan officials, according to the release.
